The overall Producer Price Index (PPI) for Palestine with its base month (December 2015=100) reached 109.05 in June 2017, as it increased by 8.80% compared to May 2017. The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Residential buildings reached 103.68 with a slight increase of 0.05% in the West Bank* during June 2017 compared with May 2017 (base year 2013=100). Exports increased in May, 2017 by 14.4% compared to April, 2017. It also increased by 16.2% compared to May, 2016 and reached USD 97.0 Million. The overall WPI in Palestine with its base year (2007=100) reached 122.00 in the Second quarter 2017, which indicates a decrease by 3.04% compared with the First quarter 2017. The Palestine Cabinet welcomed the launching of the fieldwork activities for the Population Housing and Establishments Census 2017 covering all Palestinian governorates and localities during 2017. Ms. Ola Awad announced the launching of the census fieldwork activities, highlighting that PCBS is preparing for conducting the census in all Palestinian governorates and localities during 2017, The overall CPI for Palestine during June 2017 decreased by 0.96% compared with May 2017 (by 1.61% in Gaza Strip, by 0.90% in the West Bank**, and by 0.29% in Jerusalem J1*). Housing and Establishments Census of 2007, the total population of Palestine by mid-2017 was about 4.95 million; 2.52 million males and 2.43 million females. In 2016, the unemployment rate rose to 54% among graduates aged 20-29 years with a bachelor's degree or an intermediate diploma in Palestine (42% in the West Bank and 67% in Gaza Strip). In 2015 and 2013 the unemployment rate was 52% while in 2010, it was 45%. The overall IPI in Palestine reached 103.97 during May 2017 with a decrease of 0.49% compared to the previous month (Base Month December 2015 = 100).
